Profs and Pints DC presents: “Ukraine’s Peace Prospects,” a look at how its war with Russia might end, with Michael Kimmage, professor of history at Catholic University and former U.S. State Department planner for Ukraine and Russia.
The fighting in Ukraine continues more than a year after Russia began its brutal invasion of that country in February 2022. Among the more recent developments have been Russia’s assault on the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut and Russian missile strikes on Ukraine's critical infrastructure.
Yet there are many signs that Russia and Ukraine are at a point of exhaustion in this already long war. Both sides are shouldering huge and growing costs and struggling to amass ammunition.
